As winter turns to spring and then summer, many people like to wear brightly colored lipsticks to perk up for the new season. Recently, orange lipsticks have been all the rage, and with the selection of a coral lipstick for the color of the year in 2019, there will be a lot more orange lipsticks running around. However, you may have noticed that when you wear orange lipstick, your teeth may look yellow, which makes you never want to touch orange again. Not sure how to have beautiful white teeth and wear your favorite orange lipstick. We have some suggestions. The Love of Orange There are several reasons why orange lipstick makes your teeth look yellow, but the biggest reason is that orange is a warm color, usually with a yellow undertone. Because your teeth are reflective surfaces, they pick up the yellow tone in the lipstick, which makes your teeth look more yellow than they actually are. Also, your teeth may need a bit of TLC to be at their whitest and brightest. Think about buying a whitening toothpaste, or using whitening strips or whitening trays before you put on that orange lipstick. That way, your teeth will look less yellow. Also, here's another pro tip. There are orange lipsticks with blue undertones, which help to reduce the yellow teeth look. Also, you may want to try adding a pink gloss on top of the orange, which will diminish the look of yellow teeth.
